Slow Growth Predicted for EU Nations: The European Commission said economic growth in the European Union will climb to 1.6% this year and to 2.5% in 1995, compared to forecasts of 3.7% for the United States and 0.8% for Japan. EU Vice President Henning Christophersen said unemployment in the dozen EU nations will remain widespread, and he predicted that the jobless rate will reach 11.6% this year and remain at that level through 1995. EU unemployment is now at 10.9%.
