Ford Exports to Mexico Rev Up: The auto maker said it plans to export about 25,000 U.S.-made cars and trucks to Mexico this year. Ford Motor Co. Chairman Alex Trotman told shareholders at the company’s annual meeting in Cleveland that its Lorain, Ohio, plant has started making the first of about 3,400 Ford Thunderbirds and Mercury Cougars earmarked for the Mexican market. Ford’s U.S. exports to Mexico in 1993, before the North American Free Trade Agreement, totaled 1,764 vehicles.
