International Remote Posts 69% Earnings Drop

International Remote Imaging Systems Inc., a Chatsworth maker of urinalysis workstations, reported a 69% decline in its first-quarter earnings, a result of lower sales of its workstations and earthquake-related losses.

In the three months ended March 31, the company earned $94,819, as revenue declined 18% to $1.95 million. A year before, it had net income of $305,711 on $2.37 million in revenue.
