GM Recalling 207,000 Vehicles: The auto maker said it is recalling the mid-size cars and small sport utility vehicles to fix two unrelated safety defects. The first recall involves about 164,000 of the 1988-90 Pontiac Grand Prix, Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme and Buick Regal cars and 1990 Chevrolet Lumina cars with base steel wheels. Those wheels will be replaced because they could crack and fall off the vehicle, General Motors Corp. said. In addition, 43,000 of the 1993-94 Geo Tracker sport utility vehicles are being recalled to check for the possibility of a weld on the rear axle assembly being in the wrong place, which could cause reduced braking ability. The top U.S. auto maker said it is not aware of any related accidents or injuries.
