New Power Rangers Plant to Open: Cerritos-based Bandai America, a unit of Japan’s Bandai Co., said it is opening a 16th manufacturing facility for the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers action toy line. Bandai said the 160,000-square-foot facility in Hermosillo, Mexico, is to begin operating in June, with distribution to the United States planned for the early part of the month. Last December, Bandai placed advertisements in newspapers apologizing for a shortage of the toys in stores. Mighty Morphin Power Rangers is a popular live-action TV series produced by Saban Entertainment in Burbank.
