U.S. Prison Official Named

WASHINGTON —
A former chief of the Alabama and Mississippi state prison systems has been appointed director of the National Institute of Corrections. Atty. Gen. Janet Reno named Morris L. Thigpen Sr. to head the institute that provides technical assistance and training to state and local corrections agencies around the nation.
