Accused Police Chief Resigns in Ecuador
QUITO, Ecuador —
The head of Ecuador’s police force resigned Thursday amid accusations of illicit enrichment and abuse of power.
Guido Nunez Bano, a notoriously tough crime-fighter, denied the accusations but said he was resigning to protect the police service’s reputation.
