Share

Irvine Valley College is sponsoring a course this summer to assist senior citizens with financial planning.

The class will be held at the new Irvine Senior Center and will be taught by Michael Trank, a certified public accountant who is active with the college’s foundation.

Trank will discuss budgeting, cash flow, income taxes, inflation and long-term financial planning.

Special attention will be paid to health care issues, rising taxes and lower interest rates--all of which can have a serious impact on the finances of retirees.

The course also will help seniors develop personal investment strategies and manage investments during retirement.

The class is free to seniors, but there is a $3 fee for materials. The class meets Tuesdays from 6 to 8:45 p.m. beginning June 28. It runs through Aug. 2.

The Irvine Senior Center is at 20 Lake in Woodbridge village. For more information, call (714) 559-3212.
