N.Y. Times to Sell Magazines: New York Times Co. said it agreed to sell its Women’s Magazines Division to Gruner & Jahr USA Publishing, a unit of the German firm Bertelsmann. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed, but the Times said it expects a gain on the transaction. The companies said they expect to complete the transaction in the third quarter of 1994. The Women’s Magazines Division includes Family Circle, McCall’s, Child and Fitness magazines.
