14th St. Players
I want to thank David Ferrell for the wonderful story about the 14th St. Players “Laughing Through the Pain” (June 12). The Players and I would like to point out that they are not victims, that their main goal is to educate the public on mental illness and the stigma attached, through the use of comedy.
Also, we have not had a suicide attempt in six years. The Players come from all walks of life--people who dropped out of school, people with master’s degrees. One out of every four families suffers some kind of mental illness.
