PORT HUENEME : Naval Base Toxic Cleanup Discussed

Share

Navy officials have announced the formation of a committee to review toxic cleanup that will involve members of the public and officials from the Port Hueneme and Point Mugu naval facilities, authorities said.

The committee, known as a restoration advisory board, will solicit members of the public to help decide how to clean up toxic materials at the Naval Construction Battalion and Naval Facilities Engineering Service centers in Port Hueneme and the Naval Air Weapons Station at Point Mugu, said Cora Scott, a Navy spokeswoman.

Scott said the board will receive and review cleanup reports and plans for the bases and then provide feedback on that information to Navy officials.
