Chrysler Reportedly Settles Minivan Suits: The auto maker has reached out-of-court settlements in at least a dozen lawsuits alleging that its minivan models have rear door latches that can open in a crash, the Detroit News reported. At least eight other suits are pending, according to documents filed with the federal National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. Chrysler Corp. maintains that its minivans are safe and that most of the 10 deaths allegedly linked to the problem were the result of severe crashes.
