WESTMINSTER : Senior Center to Offer Salad Bar

Seniors will enjoy meals with more variety starting this month, when the Senior Center begins to offer a salad bar at lunchtime.

Dubbed the “Lean Green Machine,” the salad-bar menu will include salad greens, cherry tomatoes, shredded carrots, broccoli florets, cauliflower and other salad ingredients, including various salad dressings.

Senior Center Director Betty Goyne said the salad bar is being offered to encourage seniors to eat healthy food.

The salad bar will be available from noon to 1 p.m. every day, beginning Wednesday. A donation of $1.75 is suggested for seniors. Others will be charged $3.75. The menu will be available at other senior centers in West Orange County in the future, Goyne said.
