Exploring Theory of Stress, Cancer Link

* I would like to offer my theory to Dr. Hoda Anton-Culver why Orange County women have a breast cancer rate twice that of the nation. (“Hunt Goes On for Clues to Higher Rate of Breast Cancer Locally,” commentary on health, June 26). There is a theory Dr. Anton-Culver didn’t talk about, that breast cancer is caused by elevated stress levels.

I have traveled extensively and I have said for years that Orange County women are the most “stressed out” women in the nation. By “stressed out,” I mean high worry levels about material things and status. I think it is a theory worth investigating.
