Radio Fan Speaks Out

The Ventura County edition on June 26 published a complimentary and factual article about Amateur Radio Emergency Communication Preparedness with particular emphasis on the Conejo Valley Amateur Radio Club (CVARC).

However, your choice of one club member’s tongue-in-cheek comment concerning “nerds, geeks, dorks, wimps” to end an otherwise professional article was an example of tasteless journalism. CVARC’s members come from all walks of life. They include engineers, airline pilots, homemakers, business owners, professional local, state and federal civil servants, writers, travel agents and nurses.
