VENTURA : Narcotics Agents Arrest 5 During Raid
Five people were arrested Wednesday morning when Ventura police served a search warrant at a house in the Ventura Avenue area, authorities said.
Narcotics investigators raided a Ramona Street home at 7:10 a.m. and arrested the five on a variety of charges, including possession of methamphetamines, outstanding warrants and parole violations, Sgt. Bill Bogner said.
Arrested were David Alan Carey and Brenda Joyce Mankinen on suspicion of possession of methamphetamines, Ronald Franklin Clark on suspicion of parole violation, and Douglas Manning and Christopher Kevin Williams on outstanding warrants.
Police also recovered what is believed to be stolen automotive repair equipment at the house, along with knives. The suspects surrendered peacefully, Bogner said.
Four of the suspects remained in Ventura County Jail late Wednesday pending bail. The fifth, believed to have violated parole, is being held without bail, Ventura County sheriff’s deputies said.
