IDB Communications in Acquisition Talks: Sources confirmed that five potential suitors are showing interest in acquiring the Culver City company, which provides long-distance phone services, radio and TV transmissions and mobile satellite communications. IDB did confirm that one suitor is long-distance firm LDDS Communications, but it said no agreement has been reached and “no assurances can be given that any transaction will occur, nor the price at which it might occur.” Interest in IDB apparently picked up after its stock plunged following an accounting dispute in May in which auditors Deloitte & Touche resigned.
