ORANGE : Hearing to Focus on Affordable Housing

Share

The Planning Commission will have a public hearing at 7 tonight to discuss an affordable housing plan.

The voluntary plan, which eventually will be part of the development review process, relies on incentives for builders to include affordable housing in their projects.

The plan’s goal is to make 20% of new housing affordable for low- to moderate-income families.

The incentives available to developers include the ability to build more homes than otherwise would be allowed and the right to use modular homes.

The commission meets in council chambers at City Hall, 300 E. Chapman Ave.
