Postal Employee Admits He Threw Away Mail
A South Carolina mail carrier confessed to throwing away mail he would not have been able to deliver on time, local radio and television reported Friday.
Postal officials said the part-time mail carrier told them he discarded the mail on July 6 because he could not finish his route on time. The man was not identified.
A jogger spotted the bundles of mail along a wooded area Tuesday and called postal officials. They confronted the employee at his home, where he confessed to dumping more than 500 pieces of mail, and immediately resigned.
