* Fred Ehlers has been appointed to the newly created position of vice president for sales planning and support division at Mazda Motor of America in Irvine. He was formerly director of field operations. In his new position, Ehlers will be responsible for sales and incentive planning, dealer financing, vehicle distribution, dealer relations and dealer development. In addition, Fred Wallace, director of logistics, will head up the company’s fleet operations and re-marketing services. Wallace has been with Mazda for more than four years, during which he has held general manager positions in the Southeast and Western regional offices.
