The business license of a Covina electronics service dealer was recently revoked after investigators from the Department of Consumer Affairs’ Bureau of Electronic and Appliance Repair discovered that the dealer billed them for unnecessary parts and was operating with an expired license.

Victor O. Santana, owner of Ontario Video Repair at 983 W. San Bernardino Road, had his license revoked on June 28. Santana had not paid his licensing fees for two years, said bureau chief Curt Augustine.

Augustine said his office began investigating Santana’s business after receiving complaints from customers who said Santana was incompetent. The state bureau also had warned Santana repeatedly to renew his license, Augustine said.

When undercover investigators went to Santana’s store to monitor his business practices, the dealer billed them for unnecessary parts, Augustine said.

Santana was charged with two petty theft counts in August, 1993. He pleaded guilty to both counts and was fined $1,080 and placed on two years’ probation.
