Arijan Komazec, who didn’t play the first 13 minutes, scored 17 of his 25 points in the second half, leading a rally that carried Croatia to an 83-69 victory over Australia in the World Championship of Basketball on Saturday at Toronto.

Croatia won its third in a row to finish in first place in Pool B. Australia (2-1) also has a berth in the championship bracket.

Australia, which got 19 points from former Seton Hall star Andrew Gaze and 16 from Mark Bradtke, led by as many as six points in the first half.

Russia 73, Canada 66--Russia outscored Canada, 10-2, in the final 1:35 to win Pool C in a game at Hamilton. The teams were even throughout the second half until Russia (3-0) pulled away.

Cuba 92, South Korea 79--Angel Caballero scored 30 points on 11-for-12 shooting in a Pool B game at Toronto. Caballero made all four of his three-point shots.

Argentina 67, Angola 59--Marcelo Nicola had 25 points and 11 rebounds at Hamilton to lead Argentina to third place in Pool C. Nicola’s three-point play with nine minutes left brought Argentina (1-2) into a 50-50 tie. It took the lead for good 48 seconds later on a three-pointer by Juan Espil.
