Splash Start Trip With a Victory

The Splash, starting a seven-game trip on a positive note, beat the Arizona Sandsharks, 5-4, Sunday in a Continental Indoor Soccer League game before 4,875 at the America West Arena in Phoenix.

After being shut out in the first quarter, Anaheim (14-5) scored three goals in the second and third to take a 3-1 lead.

Raffaele Ruotolo and Armando Valdivia scored the first two goals of the fourth quarter to give the Splash a 5-2 lead, before Arizona (7-10) made it close.

Ruotolo had an assist, increasing his record streak to 20 games. Dale Ervine was held without a goal for the first time in 10 games.
