DANA POINT : Water District Board Member Appointed

Share

Witold Muller, a 58-year-old commercial real estate broker and general contractor, has been appointed to fill a seat on the board of the Capistrano Beach County Water District.

Muller won unanimous board approval last week to fill the seat vacated in June by Addison H. DeBoi, who quit after an unsuccessful bid to become a Dana Point councilman.

Bill Meadows, the water district’s general manager, said that although Muller was appointed to a board term that expires in 1996, he must run for election in November for the seat’s remaining two years.

Muller could also choose to seek one of two other seats with full two-year terms being contested in November.

Muller said Monday that he intends to run in November but hasn’t decided which seat to pursue.

“I don’t think I’d be getting involved for the short term,” he said. He said he planned to speak with the registrar of voters office about his options.

Besides Muller, five other board hopefuls applied for the seat, according to the water district.
