World IN BRIEF : GAZA STRIP : Attacks Leave Israeli Dead, 6 Injured

Gunmen staged two attacks on Israeli vehicles in the newly autonomous Gaza Strip, killing one person and wounding six. Muslim extremists claimed responsibility for the attacks, which took place on roads leading to the Gush Katif settlement. In response, dozens of Jewish settlers gathered on Gaza’s main road, throwing stones at Palestinian cars and blocking the street with rocks and garbage. Palestinians responded by throwing stones, security sources said.
