STERLING, Conn. —
A 15-year-old boy who shot his grandmother to death is likely to be tried as an adult and subject to the death penalty, authorities said Friday.
A police spokesman said the suspect, whose identity was not made public, shot Laura Cholewa, 54, in the face with her own gun after she caught him burglarizing her house on Wednesday.
The youth was being held on charges of murder, burglary and theft of a firearm.
