* Theme parks: Shares in Euro Disney SCA, the operator of the Euro Disney theme park outside Paris, plunged once again Monday to new lows as the small number of visitors seen at the park continued to worry investors. “Euro Disney is counting on 11 million visitors (a year), of which 45% will be French. This means it’s expecting 8.6% of the (French) population to visit the park. It remains to be seen,” said one analyst at a French brokerage. The shares closed down 11.58% at $1.55 on heavy volume of 8.3 million shares, after hitting a new low at $1.44. The heavy selling was prompted Friday by a Paribas Capital Markets note. Dealers said the broker valued Euro Disney shares at 30 cents, which led to losses of more than 10% during the session and a final loss of 7.77%. Plagued since it opened in April, 1992, by a disappointing number of visitors, Euro Disney has been struggling to improve attendance by cutting prices and improving its marketing.
