Reader Appreciates a Writer’s Efforts

I appreciated the story headlined “Teamsters Target Sam’s Club in Fullerton” (Aug. 8).

Here’s a news story that actually adheres to the old who-what-when-where-and-how rule of journalism. The lead paragraph actually summarizes the story; the subsequent paragraphs are in descending order of importance. It’s reassuring to see a news story written in the traditional manner. It actually imparts information clearly and concisely. What a change from the all-too-frequent “cutesy” leads and filler paragraphs that divert readers’ attention from the facts.
