Dutta Appointed Executive VP for Ingram Micro Inc.

Sanat Dutta has been appointed to the newly created position of executive vice president for Ingram Micro Inc., a wholesale distributor of microcomputer products based in Santa Ana. Formerly senior vice president of operations, Dutta will maintain his current responsibilities in overseeing operations, purchasing, Ingram Labs and value-added services and will handle product acquisition and technical services.

InVitro International, an Irvine company that makes a chemical testing product, said William J. Fisher, its president and chief executive, has left to pursue other business interests. Fisher is the second high-level executive to leave the company recently. Laurie Hallwyler, vice president of marketing, announced her resignation earlier this month. Rick Vitelle, vice president of finance and administration, will assume Fisher’s duties until a replacement is found. InVitro makes a product called Corrositex, which the company has marketed as an alternative to animal testing to determine how corrosive various chemicals are to the skin.

Camarillo-based Advanced Photonix Inc. announced that Thomas T. Lewis has resigned as a director and chairman of the board to pursue his interests in other new technologies outside API’s current sphere of interest. Lewis may be engaged in a consulting capacity to support API in the future. Bernhardt Denmark will replace Lewis as chairman. Denmark is the past chairman of API and has most recently served as vice chairman. Advanced Photonix produces proprietary solid-state silicon large-area avalanche photodiodes.
