Abbey Healthcare Group Inc.: The Costa Mesa company recently completed acquisition of eight respiratory therapy companies, bringing to 20 the number of such companies it has purchased this year.

Terms of the latest acquisitions were not disclosed.

Abbey now owns Med-America Healthcare Associates Inc. in North Platte, Neb.; Stat Home Care in Dallas; North Shores Medical in Ft. Bragg, ; Safecare Medical in St. Louis; South Texas Stat Care in Houston; Smoky Mountain Medical in Jefferson City, Tenn.; Franklin Home Oxygen in Nashville, Tenn.; and Sandia Home Medical in Albuquerque, N.M. The new operations will be integrated with existing Abbey offices.

Abbey Healthcare Group provides in-home health care, such as respiratory therapy and infusion therapy, for patients who have been discharged from hospitals but need ongoing treatment.
