Comcast Corp. and Tele-Communications Inc. extended until Oct. 21 their $1.42-billion tender offer for QVC Inc. . . . Troubled supercomputer maker Kendall Square Research Corp. said it may have to seek bankruptcy protection. . . . MCI Communications Corp. said it began talks with several companies to gain entry into the wireless business, in the wake of the collapse of its $1.36-billion bid to acquire a stake in Nextel Communications Group.
