Raising Awareness of a Birth Disorder

Share

* Kudos for (your) well-written and uplifting article on the musical abilities of individuals having the birth disorder Williams syndrome (“Tuning In on an Enabling Birth Disorder,” Aug. 21).

Unfortunately, the names of two of the musicians were inadvertently omitted. One was tenor Dennis Butcher of Anaheim; the other was Cathy Krieger of Garden Grove, the guitarist-singer who composed the song “A Better World.” Also, some quotes attributed to my daughter, Gloria, were actually said by Krieger.

One gratifying aspect of the article was the phone calls and letters I received from concerned parents and grandparents of children having Williams syndrome who were unaware of the parental support group.
