DUARTE : Communities to Unite for Anti-Drug March
A candlelight march against drugs will be held at 5 p.m. Saturday in an unincorporated county area bordering Duarte.
The march is sponsored by the Monrovia/Arcadia/Duarte Town Council, a group overseeing unincorporated county neighborhoods. It begins at Maxwell Elementary School, 733 E. Euclid Ave., proceeds south along Goodall Avenue and ends at Pamela Park.
Residents have helped reduce crime in the area, said Temple Station Capt. Robert Mirabella. He credited community activism, strict enforcement of county health and building codes and increased community policing by sheriff’s deputies from the Temple Station for the drop in serious crimes.
