Aging: Getting the Word Out on UCLA Center

I want to convey our great pleasure and appreciation for the Sept. 4 “For Seniors” feature (“Bridges Wins Hands Down for ‘Living Better Longer’ ”). This article described the UCLA Center on Aging’s Sept. 27 program, “Eating to Live Better Longer,” and included an interview with Lloyd Bridges. (In a recent conversation with me, Mr. Bridges also expressed his delight with the article and how much he enjoyed speaking to the L.A. Times staff people who came to his home.)

If you ever wonder who reads this feature, we can attest to the fact that it has an enormous audience. Our programs have been attracting audiences of between 90 and 130 people and being naturally optimistic we have been booking a facility on the UCLA campus that has a capacity of 150. As a result of Ms. Feldman’s article, we have received well over 150 inquiries and paid registrations for the meeting now stand at 245. We are delighted to report that we have had to change the site of the meeting to accommodate this large audience.

One of our primary missions is to educate the public in issues relevant to aging, and we are grateful to you for your help.
