Microwave Set for Kids: JusToys, a New York-based toy maker, has introduced the Micro-Bake Cake Set, which enables children to bake with a microwave without the danger of touching hot pans.
Using any packaged cake mix, children ages 8 and up can put the batter in the specially coated Micro-Bake pan, drop it into the Micro-Bake safety chamber and then place it in a home microwave oven.
After five minutes, the cake is done. But the safety lock on the safety chamber won’t open until the pan is completely cool.
The Micro-Bake Cake Set also comes with an apron, measuring spoon and cup. It retails for about $19.99.
