Taco Bell: The Irvine fast food chain owned by PepsiCo Inc. reported an operating profit of $86.8 million for the third quarter ended Sept. 3, up nearly 13% from the $77.1 million posted a year ago. Sales increased 13%, to $829.8 million from $731.3 million. For the first three quarters of the year, operating profit rose to $175.1 million from $165.6 million. Sales were up 21%, to $2.3 billion from $1.9 billion.
