ANTELOPE VALLEY : Shuttle Endeavour Heads to Florida Atop Jumbo Jet
The space shuttle Endeavour headed home Wednesday atop a special jumbo jet after it was forced to land at Edwards Air Force Base last week because of bad weather in Florida.
The orbiter’s next flight is expected in January. On the first leg of its flight, the Endeavour will be taken to Dyess Air Force Base near Abilene, Tex., after a refueling stop at Biggs Army Air Field in El Paso.
The Endeavour crew gathered geological and environmental data of the Earth’s surface while in space by using the Space Radar Laboratory.
