Rainbow Technologies Inc.: The Irvine software protection company recorded profit of $1.3 million, or 24 cents a share, for the third quarter, up from the $1.2 million, or 21 cents a share, reported for the like 1993 period. Sales increased 14% to $9 million from $7.9 million. Year-to-date profit declined to $3.8 million, or 68 cents a share, from $4.6 million, or 83 cents a share, for the first three quarters of 1993. Sales rose to $27.3 million from $26.5 million.
