The Bar eventually changed its mind, and on Friday, Leslie was honored by the Red Cross (B7). . . . But he doesn’t see himself as a hero: “I wouldn’t hesitate in any situation. I don’t think many people would.”

WISE MOVE: A cliff-hanging campus along Mulholland in Sepulveda Pass is taking shape. The Stephen S. Wise Temple in Bel-Air, the second largest U.S. synagogue, is going to move the nation’s only Reform Jewish high school there (B13). . . . The busy temple had 8,500 adults and 2,000 children at the last High Holy Days services.
