LOS ANGELES : USC Offers Fellowships to Retrain Defense Engineers

The USC School of Engineering has announced the availability of nearly $600,000 in fellowships to help retrain laid-off defense engineers in the field of multimedia technology.

Eligible electrical engineers or computer scientists must live in Los Angeles or have worked for a company in the city. The application deadline is Nov. 18, USC spokesman Eric Mankin said. The fellows will be selected by Dec. 7 and classes for the master’s degree program will start Jan. 11, he said.
