WORLD IN BRIEF : RWANDA : Aid Workers Decry Danger in Camps

Relief workers threatened to pull out of Rwanda’s violent refugee camps unless security is improved and armed gangs of defeated Rwandan soldiers and militiamen are removed. In a joint statement released in Nairobi, Kenya, 16 aid agencies said living and working conditions in the camps have become unacceptably dangerous. At the United Nations, a diplomat said the Security Council will consider sending peacekeepers or deploying troops later this month.
