Voice Powered Cuts Losses to $290,000

Voice Powered Technology International Inc., a Sherman Oaks supplier of voice-recognition consumer electronics products, said that it narrowed its losses in the latest quarter as it broadened its marketing efforts and increased sales.

In the three months ended Sept. 30, Voice Powered lost $290,000, in contrast with a year-earlier loss of $3.15 million. Its sales were $3.79 million in the latest quarter, a 73% gain from $2.19 million in sales.

For the nine months ended in September, the company’s loss totaled $326,000, while its sales fell 17%, to $9.55 million. A year before, it lost $10.8 million on $11.5 million in sales.
