International Remote’s Quarterly Profit Doubles

International Remote Imaging Systems Inc., a Chatsworth-based maker of urinalysis testing workstations, reported record revenue and profit in the third quarter.

The company posted earnings of $441,532 in the latest quarter, which ended Sept. 30, more than double the $212,032 profit reported in the same three-month period of 1993. Revenues totaled $2.89 million in the third quarter, up 31% from $2.2 million a year earlier.

For the first nine months of the year, International Remote posted a profit of $892,479 on sales of $7.55 million, compared to year-earlier earnings of $862,213 on sales of $6.95 million.

The company attributed the improved results to resurgent sales in its urinalysis workstations, as well as increased sales of service and supplies to an enlarged customer base.
