Economic Conference: The Center for the New West, a nonprofit think tank, will release an economic study of Southern California on Tuesday that shows the region’s recovery is gathering steam. What’s more, the area’s economy is reshaping itself through a variety of unique qualities, including immigrants, women and minorities, and a strong base in manufacturing and tourism, according to the report, titled “The Next Act: Southern California’s New Economy.” The report will be discussed at a conference Tuesday afternoon at the Pacific Design Center in West Hollywood.
