Rights: Praise for Community Activist Nunez

Thumbs up to Fabian Nunez and to others like him who work on behalf of the oppressed in Pomona and neighboring communities (Nov. 3). Fabian has identified the civil rights movement of the 1990s and taken it to where no one has gone before.

If we’re waiting for another Cesar Chavez or Martin Luther King Jr., I hope that Fabian and others like him have the sustaining spirit within them to continue the good fight of the oppressed Latinos, especially the undocumented immigrant.

As for the charge that he is divisive and extreme in his tactics, what’s so radical about wanting peace and justice for the Latino worker, family and students? Three cheers for his active voice!
