San Francisco Ballet Casts L.A. 'Romeo'

Casting has been announced for the new San Francisco Ballet production of "Romeo and Juliet" at the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion, Wednesday through Dec. 4.

Premiered in March, this full-evening version uses the familiar Prokofiev score, with choreography by company artistic director Helgi Tomasson and designs (sets and costumes) by Jens-Jacob Worsaae.

Principal casting is as follows.:

Wednesday, 8 p.m.: Elizabeth Loscavio (Juliet), Anthony Randazzo (Romeo), Ashley Wheater (Paris), Christopher Stowell (Mercutio), Mikko Nissinen (Benvolio), Jais Zinoun (Tybalt).

Dec. 1, 8 p.m.: Tina LeBlanc (Juliet), David Palmer (Romeo), Rodolphe Cassand (Paris), David Justin (Mercutio), Peter Brandenhoff (Benvolio), Jorge Esquivel (Tybalt).

Dec. 2, 8 p.m.: Loscavio, Yuri Possokhov (Romeo), Wheater, Stowell, Nissinen, Zinoun.

Dec. 3, 2 p.m.: Sabina Allemann (Juliet), Jeremy Collins (Romeo), Wheater, Justin, Brandenhoff, Esquivel.

Dec. 3, 8 p.m.: LeBlanc, Palmer, Cassand, Justin, Nissinen, Esquivel.

Dec. 4, 2 p.m.: Joanna Berman (Juliet), Randazzo, Wheater, Stowell, Nissinen, Zinoun.
