Priest Wanted in Assault Arrested at Airport
A priest wanted in the sexual assault of a 13-year-old New Jersey girl was arrested as he prepared to board a plane for Haiti.
Jean Level Eliscard, 28, was arrested Saturday at John F. Kennedy International Airport, officials said. He was charged with aggravated sexual contact and endangering the welfare of a child, according to police in Hamilton Township, N.J.
Eliscard apparently realized he was a suspect and tried to leave the country, police allege. A tip from a member of his predominantly Haitian parish led police to the airport.
