Raising a Toast to Jack Smith

Jack’s Smith’s “After the Fall--String Beans and Champagne” (Nov. 28) affected me to the extent that I kept the article. To read it made me appreciate the indomitable spirit that enabled him to write, imparting courage, animation and determination in the face of adversity.

There are so many people who suffer physical disabilities who can relate to Jack Smith’s troublesome situation.
