Futurecare, an Oxnard outpatient center specializing in cancer and blood disorders, has become affiliated with the National Oncology Network. The affiliation will help reduce costs and improve treatment for Futurecare patients, according to Kooros Parsa, one of the center’s medical directors.
“We, along with the other physicians affiliated with the National Oncology Network, share our data findings, thus allowing us to determine the best treatments possible for patients in Ventura County,” he said.
Parsa said the nationwide network has 18 affiliates. He said Futurecare is the only California member.
Network members take part in research with such firms as Amgen Inc. and Glaxo Inc., Parsa said. He added that network members hope to “prepare for the health care delivery system of the future.”
