Hospital Expansion
The County Board of Supervisors has apparently decided to ignore the message from the last election, wherein the voters emphatically registered their opposition to government plans to borrow money to expand government’s ability to provide services that could and should be provided by the free enterprise economy.
The supervisors added insult to injury when they voted to approve the $75-million county hospital expansion plan without waiting for the court to decide the pending suit filed by Community Memorial Hospital, to determine the legal role of a county-run hospital.
We will remember the names of the board members for the next election. But in the meantime, I hope more voters register their opinion.
